Denied entry into health centre, Bandipora woman delivers under open sky

Bandipora: A pregnant woman on Tuesday delivered under open sky in Sumbal town of Bandipora district after she was allegedly denied entry into the heath center , relatives said.

The pathetic attitude of doctors prompted protests by the locals, who demanded action against ‘arrogant doctors’.

Zareefa Begum Wife’of Mohd Saleem Najar of Inderkote Sumbal area had come to health center Sumbal after she had labour pains.

But after she was allegedly denied entry into the center and asked to get tested for COVID-19 first, she delivered outside the center.

The locals put clothes together to ensure her privacy outside the health center.

CMO Bandipora, Dr. Bashir Ahmad the matter will be investigated..

“If any health worker was found guilty, he will be punished,” he added.
