Govt. distributes 46000 Covid care kits among patients in home isolation.

Srinagar: With a view to ensure proper monitoring of Covid-19 positive patients in home isolation, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has distributed close to 46000 Covid management kits among coronavirus infected patients in the Union Territory.

The LG administration had announced that the government will be reaching out to Covid-19 patients in home isolation at their doorsteps and providing them special Covid care kits free of cost.

As per the official data, as on June 2, 19908 Covid management kits were distributed among the patients under home quarantine in Kashmir division. The total number of kits received/prepared by the administration is 38952 of which 19908 were distributed; the remaining balance 19044 is yet to be distributed.

In Srinagar district 3022 kits have been distributed, Anantnag 2422, Baramulla 759, Baramulla 2439, Budgam 2591, Ganderbal 1328, Kulgam 1650, Kupwara 2184, Pulwama 2212, Shopian 1101.

As per figures, 26001 Covid management kits have been distributed in the Jammu division which saw a huge increase in the number of Covid related deaths during the second wave.

As per the details, 51330 kits were prepared, of which 26001 have been distributed, 25329 are yet to be distributed.

The medical health and revenue teams have been delivering the special COVID-19 care kits containing an Oximeter, medicine kit, vitamins, cough syrup and also pamphlets of dos and don’ts during the isolation period to COVID-19 positive patients at their places of residence.

A senior health department official informed that the decision to provide Covid management kits was taken by the LG administration after many Covid-19 patients complained of lack of oximeters in the markets to monitor the saturation level of the patients. “This kit contains oximeters which cost around Rs 2000 in the market and also medicines which enable them to treat patients with mild symptoms at home.”
