Kupwara: Residents of Awoora and Panchayat members have demanded immediate repairs of Panchayat Ghar, which they said has been turned into garbage dumping ground.
“The Panchayat building is in a bad shape and threatens to collapse. We made several please to DC Kupwara and senior officers including DPO and ACD but they did not bother to repair or renovate the building,” said Manzoor Lone, Deputy Sarpanch Awoora, A
“The locals can not visit the Panchayat and we are also unable to take up public matters because Panchayat Ghar is not worth to stay or hold meetings,” he added.
The locals appealed administration to repair the Panchayat and make it functional at the earliest.
