Pakistan desperately making efforts to push in JeM & LeT militants into J&K: DGP Dilbagh Singh

Srinagar: Pakistan is desperately trying to supply modern weaponry to Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militants and push them into Jammu and Kashmir through International Border and the Line of Control (LoC), Dilbagh Singh, Director General of police said on Tuesday.
 Infiltration attempts were made through International Border in Jammu region, and also along the LoC in Baramulla and Kupwara too.
“Desperate efforts are being  made to send more JeM and Lashkar-e-Toiba militants into Jammu and Kashmir,” said DGP on the sidelines of the wreath-laying ceremony of a CRPF jawan in Budgam district.
The CRPF Jawan of 182 batallion was killed during an encounter with militants  in Pulwama district. Two Hizbul.militants were killed in the encounter.
Singh said that Pakistan backed Jaish-e-Mohammad was planning to carry out a  IED-based attacks on security forces but forces were alert to foil any such plans and deal with any situation.
“A major IED attack was averted last month. Jaish is now planning to have some major attack against the security forces. We are fully alert to foil such plans,” Singh added.
To a question, DGP said the security forces were carrying out nearly two dozen operations everyday based on the intelligence inputs they receive.
